Works from the digital art collection “For Love of Creation” by the late Rick Doran. 1954 – 2006
Curated and presented by Janet Thomas
Janet set up this website in memory of her friend RickDoran, who died in 2006 at the young age of 52.
He spent the last years of his life blowing his mind creating digital art, unaware he had a brain tumour until it was diagnosed in 2004.
The synchronicity of many of the artworks with his physical condition is extraordinary and it gives metaphysical meaning to their splendour.
Rick continued creating pictures until the last weeks of his life whenever he had the energy and could see to manipulate image making sofware.
He left his art works with Janet to exhibit and sell, requesting that the proceeds go to charity.
Red Bubble provides a wonderful opportunity to realise his wish.
Here you can view images from Rick’s prolific collection. Over time, more artworks will be added.
If you choose to purchase, 100% of artist proceeds from the sale of Rick’s artwork on RedBubble will be donated to The Fred Hollows foundation for the support of indigenous Australians
Enjoy his work and share in his spirit of altruism.
